As we have received much more support from the members than we expected in the participation of the coming Open Pairs Qualifying on 22 September, if the pre-registration number is more than 32, the Council has decided to amend the tournament format of the Open Pairs qualifying due to the venue restrictions as follows:
1. There will be 2 Sections (instead of 2 sessions) on 22 September (Saturday): one section will be played in the afternoon session only starting from 2:30 pm and the other section will be an evening session only starting from 7:00 pm.
2. All pre-registered pairs will be randomly allocated into either afternoon section or evening section. The draw will be done on 20 September (Thursday) and will be announced on 21 September the latest.
3. Each Section will qualify 10 pairs into the Final (altogether 20 pairs) on 29 September (Saturday).
4. The maximum capacity will be 64 pairs now. The deadline of pre-registration will be still 23:59 on 19 September (Wednesday). Additional pairs might be considered after the deadline only if it helps facilitate the tournament operation.
Thank you again for our members' support!
