一年一度的Grand Slam Individuals比賽(下文簡稱GSI)於八月底舉行了。是項比賽的參賽者皆是去年各項比賽的勝出者，比賽形式是個人賽，十六位選手需要跟其餘參賽者搭檔一次。經過十五輪激烈的比賽後，由Samuel Wan(下文簡稱Sam)以66.7%的佳績勝出比賽。

Sam把勝出比賽歸功於同伴，他謙稱同伴把牌叫得好，以及有好運氣。翻查比賽歷史，由2000年至今，這次是Sam第三次贏得GSI，暫時是GSI的記錄保持者。

Sam將於九月中代表香港公開組參加世界橋牌隊制賽「百慕達盃」，期待他們能更進一步，勇闖佳績。
