In view of the unncertainty of COVID-19, Council has discussed the arrangement on the postponement of 2020 WBG in Mar 2020 Council Meeting. Below is the extraction of the meeting minutes which is self-explanatory.

Due to the corona virus, there is a possibility that the 2020 World Bridge Games will be cancelled or postponed. Council discussed and decided that if the event is postponed to a later date but still to be held within one year from August 2020, the winning teams of the 2020 WBG trial will still be eligible to represent in the event. However if the event is cancelled, the winning teams will lost their representative right automatically. If the corona virus situation persist and the 2020 WBG still continues to be held per scheduled, the winning teams can decide to withdraw from the event due to safety consideration without being penalized. If some members withdrawn and there are still 3 or more members remain in the team, they can request to replace with another 3 players subject to Council’s approval. If the winning team decided to withdraw, then the team ranked 2nd in the series will be invited to go.
