Open League 2019-2020

The new session of Open League 2019-2020 will be held on 10 August. The capacity for the Open League is still 16 teams for Class A and 16 teams for Class B. An invitation for the team participating in Open League 2018-2019 to play for this next Open League will be sent out soon. If your team did not participate in it before, since there are 4 vacancies in Class B, you are welcome to register for the Qualifying Swiss for Class B, which will be held on 22 June 2019, with back up date on 23 June. On the same day, the knock-out matches for Class A will be held. Please do register at http://www.hkcba.org on or before 15 June 2019. All participants in the Open League are reminded to be members or registered players of HKCBA. Please note that if there are sufficient participation in organizing the Class C (which will be held on Friday nights), the Tournament Operation will seriously consider. so, new teams are encouraged to register. The TDs are Mr. Martin Poon and Mr. Eric KC Chan.

Open League Knock-out (Ambassador Knock Out Cup)

This is a totally separated event from the Open League and also it is the first Cup event of the bridge year 2019-2020. This is an invitational event, inviting the top teams in the Open League in the bridge year 2018-2019 to participate. Invitation will be sent out after the all ranks are confirmed. According to the Tournament Format, the top 10 teams from Class A and top 4 from Class B will be invited to play in this Knock Out Match. The format is similar to the play-off of the Open League in 2017-2018 or before. This event will be held on 1 June (Round of 16), 2 June (Quarter-Final, 8 June (Semi-Final) and 9 June (Final). Year-round MP Pairs (Jumpin Gym U.S.A. Cup)

The new year-round MP Pairs will be started on 4 June. Similar to last year, there will be 9 sessions this year: 4 June, 9 July, 17 September, 8 October, 5 November, 3 December, 7 January, 4 February and 3 March. Please note that the registration deadline will be 12 noon on the match-day, but it will be closed when it is full. Please note that we can accommodate 15 tables on each match day. The TD is Mr. Alan Mok.

World Wide Bridge Contest

The HKCBA is going to organize the World Wide Bridge Contest in the evening of 7 June (Friday). The results will be compared with all bridge players around the world. Please do register on or before 12 noon that day so that we can prepare the event better. Please note the we can allow 15 tables and hence the registration will be closed when it is full. On the other hand, if there are 5 or less pairs registered by the deadline of registration, the event will be cancelled accordingly. Although we have to pay extra expenses for uploading the results to the World Wide Bridge Contest, we are not going to charge additionally from the players. Please do register and play.
